The Indiana Mortgage Bankers Association (IMBA) was organized in 1958 as a trade association in the real estate finance industry. The mission of the IMBA is to provide services, support, and information to its members, and to promote sound and ethical business practices consistent with industry standards.
President's Message
What a spectacular
convention!
We opened up the 2009 Indiana Mortgage Bankers Association Convention at the Marriott North in Indianapolis with the Installation of new board members David Gedde from 1st Source Bank in South Bend, Angie Snellenberger of PMI Mortgage Insurance Company, Kim Harris of Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority, Palak Pandya of the Indianapolis Neighborhood Housing Partnership, and Bob Mansur of Aurora Loan Services. These new additions will provide leadership and experience to an already outstanding Board of Directors. We also heard from nationally renowned speakers Brian Chappelle, Doug Smith, Steve Richman, Kieran Quinn from MBA, Tom Dinwiddie, Alice Alvey and Kim Harris. What an outstanding lineup of speakers! We ended this year’s convention by awarding the highest distinction that can be given by Indiana Mortgage Bankers Association, our Distinguished Service Award. It was my honor and privilege to present the Distinguished Service Award to Susie Avery, CRMP, of United Guaranty Mortgage Insurance. Susie has volunteered countless hours for the betterment of the mortgage industry in Indiana, has always been an example of leadership and ethics in our business, and has been a long time advocate for education in our industry. I can think of no one more deserving of a Distinguished Service Award than Susie Avery, CRMP.
We are currently in the planning stages and will begin an aggressive agenda this year beginning in August. Our board will be meeting beginning in August to provide our membership with EDUCATION opportunities all over the State of Indiana. We will also be working with our Legal Counsel, Tom Dinwiddie to assist in crafting LEGISLATION that will contribute to the long term benefit of the mortgage industry and our members in Indiana. Finally, we will continue to stress our firm belief in our CODE OF ETHICS that is so important to us, and what makes our association different from other participants in this industry.
I look forward to the challenges ahead as President of the Indiana Mortgage Bankers Association this year, and I am delighted to be able to continue to serve the industry that has been such a big part of my life for the past 30 years.
