PAC Committee
General Purpose of PAC Committee:
Discuss the current state legislative and regulatory issues impacting the residential real estate lending industry, current members of the Indiana Legislature and government as well as candidates running for office; for support and disbursement of approved funds to office holders/candidates approved. Also, working with IMBA State Board and Chapter Leaders, develop and execute annually, a plan to raise fund for the IMBA PAC.
Members:
Members of this committee include a Chair, Treasurer and members of the IMBA Legislative Committee.
General Responsibilities and Expectations:
- PAC Committee Chair to work pro-actively with IMBA ED and Lobbyist to recruit committee members, set up a schedule of meetings/calls, and, attend in person, via call, or written report appropriate scheduled board meetings and provide, along with IMBA Lobbyist, an update detailing legislative and regulatory matters discussed and IMBA's position
- When applicable, no later than September of each year, the committee will have a meeting/conference call to discuss candidates for office and whether or not so support financially and how much
- Upon approval of contributions, members of this committee will hand-deliver PAC
contributions to candidates and discuss issues of importance to IMBA during that time
- Discuss and develop tactics/strategies for PAC solicitations throughout the year to bring in a sufficient amount of dollars to meet the needs of IMBA
- Also, as needed, meet with Indiana legislators and regulators to communicate and solicit help with issues of importance to membership/industry
- When asked or desired, contact MBA for additional support from MORP AC
Goals:
- Represent the interests of IMBA members to the Indiana State legislators and regulators with appropriate financial and informational support to candidates for office
- With marketing efforts, raise money for the PAC sufficient to meeting the needs of the association for contributions
